Throughout the year, RTAC offers both in-person and virtual workshops for people in the educational field as well as parents and family members. And while many of our workshops are free to attend, any associated costs directly support this essential program.

Child Care Council of Nassau

The Early Childhood Services Department offers a variety of services including professional development and training opportunities.  Our workshops, seminars and courses are designed to meet the needs of child care professionals working with young children in early childhood programs:

  • Family child care
  • Group family child care
  • Child care centers
  • School age programs,
  • Nursery schools
  • Relative care

Child Care Council of Suffolk

Child Care Council of Suffolk offers a variety of information and services to child care professionals, including:

  • Develop and register a Child Care Center, Family Child Care Home or School-Age Child Care Program
  • Ongoing training, education and technical assistance
  • Specialized training for infant/toddler providers
  • Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) educational guidance to help providers achieve healthy nutrition goals for their child care programs and reimbursement
  • Refer parents who are seeking child care to your program
  • Resources through our lending library
  • Information on New York State child care program licensing and regulations
  • Develop a Health Care Plan and obtain a Medication Administration Training (MAT) license or registration

NAEYC

Professional development is a continuum of learning and support activities designed to prepare individuals for work with and on behalf of young children and their families, as well as ongoing experiences to enhance this work. These opportunities lead to improvements in the knowledge, skills, practices, and dispositions of early childhood professionals. NAEYC’s professional development is aligned and grounded in NAEYC’s standards and delivered in innovative ways.

New York Early Childhood Professional Development Institute

The New York Early Childhood Professional Development Institute leads the work to establish and implement an early childhood workforce system to ensure funding, standards and competencies, career development resources, qualifications and credentials, professional development (training and strengths-based coaching), and program quality assurance and improvement for individuals who work with young children throughout New York.
